This portrait is inspired by the famous 1984 "Afghan Girl" photo by Sharbat Gula, featured on the cover of National Geographic.

Moved by the recent refugee crisis in her native Poland,  the suffering of millions of children from countries torn by wars, Magdalena created this striking abstracted painting of an unnamed girl. Her piercing eyes express fear and disbelief, but their green colour is also a symbol of hope.

Many of the colours used are fluorescent - they glow under UV light. Please note that the colours may slightly vary, depending on the screen. The photos presenting the painting in situ are for illustrative purpose only.

The painting is signed, dated, and varnished, ready to hang. The sides are painted black. Comes with the certificate of authenticity.
